There are so many sad reasons to sell:
Short Sale
Foreclosure
Must Sell!
Distress Sale
that we thought it was important to let people know this is a happy sale - the owner has been very happy in the house and is selling because she's getting married.
They're getting married! She's selling her home; he's selling his home; they're buying a new home together.
Sometimes homes has vibes - and it's good to know that a home was happy and that there were good times there. Perhaps that means that you'll have god times there as well.
More than one person looking at this home in the three days since it came on the market said, "He must be quite a guy for her to give up this house!" He is. And this means that there's a wonderful home in a great neighborhood available for sale. Hurry, and it can be yours.

It's a breath of fresh air to hear that someone is actually WANTING to sell their home in the market, I wish you and the happy couple the Best of Luck!
Sounds like there is great Karma all the way around. Send some warm sunshine our direction
Marilyn, good for them. I have seen it be such a mistake when one moves into the other's house.
Sharon - thanks! We actually offered champagne and cookies at the Open House. Even those who turned down the champagne thought it was a nice touch. Many toasted to the bride and groom.
Gina - yes, it's about karma, and this home has wonderful karma. We're happy to share our sunshine.
Charles - it's always nice to have a new start. They've chosen a great new place.
Not to throw a wet blanket over this ... but over the years there have been times we have suggested to clients that they might want to consider holding on to a house, and renting it out, instead of selling it... and more than once, years later, the client has said "I wish I'd listened to you and kept that house" ....
But, whatever, here's a toast to the happy couple, may they have great joy and prosperity. That looks like a wonderful, beautiful home!
In this market I too convey the fact that a listing has a great reason to sell rather than something not so pleasant. I love the sign.
Wonderful! I love happy stories! There ARE happy ones out there for sure!
This is great! Congratulations to both of them.
Sharon, these are the most fun types of transactions! I wrote an ad once that said:
"Ecstatic seller marrying doctor of her dreams. Must sell chic 3-BR bachelorette pad."
The Open House was mobbed and it sold immediately. And the woman who bought it married very well within two years!
So exploit it!
Love this out of box thinking Sharon. As you mention, Realtors as well as the public seem to focus on the negative reasons why people are selling.
Congratulations to you and to the happy couple! Celebrate!
Sharon, Just like you to put such a positive spin on selling in the Florida market. How clever to put the "wedding bells" sign up. Much continued happiness to the you and the sellers. And thanks for sharing.
What a cute little house! And this could be the thing that makes buyers sit up and take notice. 'Certainly worth a try.
Hi Sharon,
Very clever, I'll keep it in mind myself. BTW, I loved Patricia's comment too.
It is soooooo nice to hear a happy real estate story, it gives us all hope. Thanks for posting this.
Sharon, I love posts on listings that tell a story. So glad you are doing good and happy with your new Brokerage.
I love it! A bit of good news in the selling of real estate for a change!
your friend for Charlottesville Real Estate!

Sharon this is so nice because I always enjoy when a wedding or new children are the positive cause of a move. I have a client who tried fertility treatment and ended up with triplets! It was a lot of fun (and somewhat chaotic) moving them to a much larger home!
Hey, great idea! This house is so lovely...looks like the kind of house I would enjoy, especially the garden!
Cheryl - for many clients, renting and waiting is the solution; for others, selling and getting on with their lives is the solution. One size does not fit all.
Ellie - glad you like the sign. Buyers like houses selling for good reasons that have been happy homes.
Sally - you are always a happy person, so I think you attract happy people.
Besim - thanks.
Pat - this would be a case of "happy seller marrying author of her dreams. Want to sell wonderful family home to family who will appreciate the home."
Debbie - thanks.
Margaret R - you of all people always have a positive approach. Thanks for the good wishes.
Margaret W - it's not such a "little" house, with 3,400 sq ft.
Lynda - you never know who you'll be talking to who may want this wonderful home in St Pete.
Miriam - hopefully it will work that way with buyers as well.
Missy - there are lots more stories involved with these sellers and their transactions - all good.
Charles - buyers not only want to hear good news, they want to buy a house with a happy history.
Russell - congrats to your clients. I think this seller is happy to be moving to a smaller home!
Jennifer - the back porch and yard offer wonderful tranquility. You WOULD enjoy it.
Hi Sharon, I like the thought of a happy sale. Too much lately that might not have been the case.
Gary - it sounds crazy, but sometimes vibes do go on to the new buyer.
Sharon- This is a great reason for selling, I am happy for this couple and wish them well.
Sharon, I am absolutely thrilled for you---and the lucky man in your life! Peace and blessings always to the both of you (and don't forget us at AR :)
Hi Sharon, What a delightful post and I love the sign rider. How cool!
This was great! A great story and great motivator to folks who are thinking of buying or selling. There are good reasons to sell (more kids, a wedding) and there are great reasons to buy (people are selling, there are good loan rates available). Can't wait to have my own "happy selling/buying moment!"
~Renae
Jennifer - thanks.
Carole - it's not MY house and not MY wedding bells!
William - glad you like it.
Renae - we're looking forward to it!
How nice to come across some good reasons for a sell as opposed to all the doom and gloom! Congratulations to the couple and to you for getting the listing!
Kathy
Kathy - thanks.
Sharon - What a neat idea. Perhaps you will be able to give them a fabulous wedding gift - a great price and a quick sale.
Jeff
Jeff - they'd certainly like that!
Sharon, what a pretty home! AND all of this for a wedding? How absolutely romantic. ;-)
Sharon - It's so nice to hear good things happening to nice people!
Teri - very romantic.
Debbie - good news is always welcome.
Sharon, One of my sellers just got married! I love this idea and may just borrow it from you...even if you wrote this a few years ago.
How did the sale go?
Margaret
Margaret - you know you can borrow my ideas, no matter how long ago. The sale went smoothly and the sellers are very happy together.
Good ideas are good ideas no matter how much time has passed. Thanks for always have those good ideas!
Margaret
