Earlier I showed you that it's ready (the new office and company) but as you can see, we're not quite ready.
We thought we were, and Tami and I went in to the old office today for half an hour or so to finish things up - well, 28 boxes and several hours later, we still wern't all ready.
Notice the yellow walls we're leaving? We painted those 5 years ago, and are using the same happy yellow in our new offices.
It's amazing, after all the culling and many trips to the dumpster, we still have more stuff to move than I thought possible.
We're only moving 2 blocks away, to Beach Drive, with a glimpse of the waterfront across Straub Park - we're right across from the Museum of Fine Arts, on the best walking street of St Pete.
It'll be a few weeks getting settles, but come see The Simms Team at our new company, ALVA International, Inc. at 238 Beach Drive NE in downtown St Petersburg, Florida.

Best of luck in your new location Ms. Sharon.
Sharon- How appropriate, starting a new year in a new office and "with a glimpse of the waterfront." Sounds like a great beginning. Good luck in the new digs!
Sharon- I know you are going to be on to new beginnings with blessings of great prosperity. New adventures are so exciting! Merry Christmas.
Sharon...congrats on the new office, and I guess, new company? With a water view? I'm jealous!
I can remember years ago when I worked in Miami Beach and my office window looked out on the Intercoastal Waterway.....ahhh...those were the days my friend!
Here's to 09 and let real estate be fine!
Congratulations Sharon. Hope you have a prosperous New Year.
Best of luck to you for your move and new company! I cleaned my office to get the house on the market this past week, and I never thought I had so much "stuff" that was worthless sitting around. I used 3 huge recylcle bags and a couple of boxes of recycle stuff. HEAVY bringing that stuff down from the second floor!
Sharon, Wishing you, Tami and the entire Simm's team a fabulous new beginning with much continued success. I am so proud of you! Way to go!
Hi Sharon, You take with you all of our very best wishes for continued success. Your new digs sound wonderful and I am sure the new environment will be exciting, challenging, successful and will enjoy a great deal of success. Wishing you great Happiness and Success in the new venture.
WooHoo! You'll do super duper in your new offices....I bet there's some memories in the old one....Good wishes and a prosperous 2009!
The new address Sharon sounds like a great place for an office.
Sharon the settings for the new office sounds wonderful, it would sure motivate me. Best wishes in the new location.
Sharon, today is the day. Best of success to you and your new company. I am quite confident you will be successful in your own brokerage and so admire you for taking this step.
Moving Day...Good Luck in your new venture! You and your team will have great success. Holiday hugs and best wishes. --Laurie
Congratulations my friend! I know that moving is such a pain and exhausting for you aand your team. Best of success to you in the coming year and enjoy your new digs!
Sharon best of luck with your change. I hope things go well for you and your team.
Looks like lots and lots of stuff but if it took you 5 years to accumulate, it's to be expected. Don't be discouraged though! You're starting fresh - even if it's taking you a bit longer to actually start than you originally anticipated. The end is in sight!
~Renae
Susie - thanks!
Marilyn - thanks. It's a great renewal/beginning and wonderful to be doing it as a family.
Katerina - Merry Christmas to you and Nestor as well. And thanks for the blessings - they always help.
Thom and Ray - skol to you, too! It's fabulous to have a waterfront park across the street from us, restaurants all around us, and a sidewalk "promenade" in front of us. Yes, we've left RE/MAX and 20+ years of traditional companies and have started our own independent boutique firm, ALVA International, Inc.
Kay - thank you!
Donna - at least our move was first floor to first floor - but the amount of "garbage" as well as the amount of movable stuff was incomprehensible.
Margaret - we've always appreciated your caring and support.
William - thank you! I think we all send out vibes, whether positive or negative, and ours have been very positive lately, with new business from both new and existing clients. Hope you'll make it to St Pete to see us!
Sally - thanks. Yes, we do leave good memories behind - as we have every company/office we've left behind. It's good that friends stay even when companies change.
Gary - good point! It's not near the beach (at least, not near the Gulf of Mexico beaches) but it is by the waterfront, and you can walk along sandy "beach" by the water.
Jennifer - it was amazing today how many people were looking in the window as we were settling in.
Missy - thanks. Seize the Day. I've always felt that you'll regret more the things you don't do, than the things you do do, regardless of results. We're confident of success.
Laurie - appreciate the hugs and support!
Russell - it's surprising how much more enjoyable unpacking is than packing.
Bill - thanks.
Renae - you're right, and it's five years times four people! And a couple of us are real packrats. 2009 will be more scanning than paper saving!
That's a lot of boxes but you'll get there! Just knowing the other office is ready for YOU makes it all worthwhile! A new year...a new start! Congratulations again!
Kathy
Kathy - it's much more fun unpacking the boxes than packing them!
Awesome!
Jeanine - still can't believe how much stuff we accumulated and stored away during the last five years.
Congratulations and good luck to you! I enjoyed your teaching our class in Vail a couple of summers ago, I feel like I know your family!
Sharon - Congrats on your new office. I am excited for you and Tami.
Janna - thanks for your comments. We really enjoyed our Vail class, too. You know 2/3 of us - and we're all compatible.
Sam - Thanks! We're excited every day that we're there. Look forward to seeing you in January in Phoenix.
At least during the holidays it is hopefully a little quiter for you in order to get this move done. Good luck with it.
Rob - it's been a great time to move, especially since our phone lines and internet aren't yet connected.
Best of luck in your new venture. I think 2009 will be the year that the cream rises to the top. I commend you on your forward thinking.
Mike - thanks! We're excited about our new location, and excited about 2009! It's been a busy week in real estate for us. Happy 2009!
