Getting Symbols into our blogs and comments

Since we don't have an Insert-Symbol button to use when we're writing a blog or comment directly in ActiveRain, it's handy to use the ALT+ symbols. Here's a reference for the ones you can't remember. Using them is very simple (might not work on all laptops, but should work on most machines) - hold down the ALT key with one hand while typing the digits with the other hand.  Here are some common ones:

é  Alt + 0233    as in Renée

©  Alt + 0169    Copyright

®  Alt + 0174  Registered, as in REALTOR®

™  Alt + 0153  Trademark

½  Alt +  0189    Half

±  Alt +  0177  Plus or minus

Makes it much easier to use this.

Sharon:  You are too cute & sweet!  My maiden name had no vowels in it (unless you count "Y") so I am used to my names being butchered!

I recently called a woman who had sent me a client, and asked her for some Polish tutoring - how do I pronounce the names of these clients she sent me? She said, don't worry, they're used to their names being butchered. I replied, not the point - I want to pronounce them right. So now my ACT record has phonetic pronunciations so our whole team can pronounce them properly.

How did you know my ancestry is 100% Polish? :winks:  I seriously made it to college before someone pronounced my name correctly at UNO orientation.  I sat through my name being called right, I was expecting all other variations but the real deal!
