My Mobile Witness is an excellent safety tool I learned about this morning. Often real estate agents meet someone at a property (whether it's a potential buyer or a potential seller). If you're a member (membership is free) of My Mobile Witness, take a photo and send it to the My Mobile Witness link, and there is a date and time stamped photo in a secure environment. You can add a message if you like. This data can only be accessed by law enforcement agencies. Getting into someone's car - even a taxi cab at an airport - snap a photo of the license plate and send it along. Send a street sign, a house number - anything that may be relevant if you don't return.
In 2007 Marc and Scott were looking into purchasing a real estate company. They were concerned about the safety of their agents, and with a technology background, came up with this.So far, it won't work with an iPhone, but their website suggests we check back in a month, as they are working on it. The current technology works with MMS or SMS and not through e-mail.
Prevention pays - the life you save may be your own.

Sharon - I'll be looking into this straight away! Thanks for the tip.
Gosh, it's unfortunate we have to think of these things. Thanks for the My Mobile Witness info Sharon.
Sharon, thanks so much for the tip. This is awesome. I always let the front desk know when I'm meeting someone and the schedule for just in case but this is the icing on the cake!
This is one of the smartest and coolest ideas I have heard of in a long time.
That sounds neat. Thanks for sharing. I will be checking into it. You never know who you are meeting.
I am so gld you posted this. I am going to look into this. What a great tool.
Sharon - Last summer as I sat in the back of a taxi somewhere in Manhattan the thought occurred to me no one knows where I am. Taking a photo is better than relying on blind faith and the kindness of strangers.
Excellent info Sharon. It's a different world out there now and unfortunately we need stuff like this.
Susan - we all need to look out for each other.
Joe - it IS unfortunate.
Barb - That's good procedure. Does the desk copy drivers' licenses as well?
Richard - what's nice is that the information can't be changed or lost.
Carol - true. There isn't a particular look that someone with evil intentions has.
Janaya - tell your friends, too.
Norma - Tami and I have become concerned about taxis in other cities, too. No one knows where we are, and often the driver doesn't know the city and doesn't speak English. We often order a Town Car for added accountability and security - our lives are worth the difference.
Bill - every little bit of prevention helps.
That's some really cool stuff. I'm going to forward to my partners. thanks.
Thank you I will be going to this site. We work alot of rual property and can't always have
someone go with us.
Sharon, Thank you, thank you. It seems like I have to check back in a few months. I am an iphone user!!!
Sharon~ I checked into this and it sounds great! Thank you for making us aware of this preventative program out there for us, it is hard to believe it is free!
Steve - good for you.
Sandy - with a lot of rural property I'd be especially concerned.
Mana - I'm an iPhone user, too.
Vickie - when the occasional e-mail comes from the sponsor, I promise not to be concerned about "spam" as they're providing us this product for free.
Thank you Sharon, good and valid information, obviously a picture does not forget the small details, hopefully we will never have to use that technology, but is good to know that we have now something that can be of help.
Antonio
Antonio and Alexia - the system keeps the photos for six months. Obviously if there is a problem, it will surface well within that time limit.
hi Sharon, it's too bad that advice like this is necessary but the reality is that it could save lives! Thx for adding it to the group!
Thanks for the site. i'm passing it on to my membership today!
Sharon - What a great idea .Thanks for sharing. I'm going to go over and check out the website.
marti - thanks for your comment. I know it was a little off topic, but I justified it by the fact that if we don't save out life, we have no one to market.
Sandra - thanks for letting everyone know.
Robert - you're welcome.
