It's always interesting to learn how much is going on within Active Rain that we don't know about. Miss a day of reading posts, or stop after the first few dozen, and you can miss a lot.
The Ninety-Ninth Percentile Group was founded back in February as the "home" for the top 1% on Active Rain. That's about 40,000 points (for those who are wondering how to compute it). I was unaware of it until just a few minutes ago when I was reading a post by Patricia Kennedy, noted that she had posted it to the Ninety-Ninth Percentile Group, and clicked on that group link to see what the group was about.
Since we can only post to a limited number of groups, you might find it interesting to look at which groups your favorite bloggers are posting to, and check them out.

Interesting. I just heard about this group through you even though I do often see the groups listed for my favorite bloggers...guess some of "my" bloggers are new to AR
Sharon, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I am surprised that it only takes 40,000 points to be a member---there sure are a lot of AR members that aren't having as much fun:) I follow you around AR because you were one of the very first to subscribe to my blog---other than a couple of whacos they I already knew:)
Thank you for sharing Sharon. I greatly appreciate it, and have already joined the group! I see a lot of friends there! :)
Sharon,
I too had not heard of "The Ninety-ninth Percentile" group. Thank you for sharing, I'm going to check it out know.
I am only around 3400 points right now. But I am determined to get to 40,000 in 2009.
I am a writer, so I will be blogging a great deal. I hope to read several blogs daily and offer comments.
Mostly, I hope to be a professional referral source for anyone looking to buy in Knoxville, TN.
Thank you for your blog.
Thanks, Sharon.
Wasn't aware.
But checking it out now.
Later.
As you said, we can only post to 5 groups. I belong to very few.
So far, the Ninety-Ninth Percentile Group hasn't rapped my knuckles for anything I posting to the group.
I noticed this group but had no idea what it was all about. I'll have to check it out.
News to me...thanks for posting it.
Sharon, I think I've been in that group since its beginning. However, there are many others out there that I still discover from time to time.
Sharon - I have seen this group in a number of posts I have read but never took the time to check it out. Thanks for the info about who can join it. I've got 7,000 points to go and will be puting the pedal to the metal to get there as soon as I can! :-)
Hi Sharon, and interesting post. I recall being invited to the group but I can't remember why I am not a member. I think I was a member and then cut back on the number of groups I post to. So I will go and check it out. Many Thanks!
Morning Sharon,
I hadn't heard of this group either. Thanks for the information. There are so many groups to choose from here in the rain. I just go from one to another reading what they are all about.
Hi Sharon, that's pretty cool because i just recently moved into the 40K zone! Thanks for the sugestion, I have just started looking at what groups my favorites are posting to and reading the bloggers there!
Hey BTW great game last night. Tied up so now I hope your guys can do well on the road! Have a great weekend!
Vickie - whether they're new bloggers or old ones, it's still interesting to follow their group links.
Charles - I agree. 40,000 points hardly seems the level to make the top 1%, but I guess there are huge numbers who really never blog much. I've enjoyed your informative posts since I first found you on Active Rain.
Jim - that's what I found. Whether it's worth following remains to be seen.
Christopher - good for you.
Richard - we're well familiar with Knoxville. Keep at it and you'll be well beyond 40,000 points.
Linda - that's good.
Lenn - that may be, but you were one of the agents I saw featured there.
Joan - I just came across it, too.
Jason - you're welcome.
Brian - there's always something new for us to learn.
Donna - I know you'll do it!
William - I belong to a lot of groups, but post to few, and only check some of them occasionally. Takes more time to unsubscribe than to just let it be.
Hal - I don't think there's any way to keep up with all the groups.
Russell - it was an exciting game to watch!
I found this group a few weeks ago too...I just forget I am a part of it at times!
I had no idea this group existed...will have to go check it out. Thanks.
Jeremy - it's impossible to keep up with a lot of groups.
Sonja - you're welcome.
