Costa Rica Real Estate Opportunities

Costa Rica Sunset

This Costa Rica sunset shot was taken by one of our co-travelers, Jeff. It's been a month since Tami and I visited Costa Rica to check out investment opportunities for some of our clients - and now it's time to write about that experience - long past time, to be precise.

We went to the Central Pacific coast, to the del Pacifico development in Esterillo Este, between Jaco and Quepos. The weekend Gathering truly exposed us to the lifestyle of being there in Costa Rica.

The Ticos (Costa Rican people) were so very friendly. There were boundless active activities - or you could laze by the pool or walk along a solitary beach. The people we met at the Gathering - the del Pacifico people, the potential buyers, the owners who were visiting or waiting for their home to be built ... were a great group of interesting people that we enjoy spending time with.

More about real estate later - for now, just know that it's a fantastic place to escape to.

Sharon, great sunset shot. I know a lender who vacationed there and she gave rave reviews.

Sharon- if this sunset is an introduction to the area I can't wait to see the rest.  Thanks for sharing.

Gary - we were surprised to find just how many people from the Tampa Bay area are interested in real estate in Costa Rica.

Jennifer - glad you liked my teaser!

I really LOVE Costa Rica - I took a group of Boy Scouts down there in 2005 and we had the most amazing time hiking and camping in the OSO peninsula Jungle, staying at the Corcovado research station, whitewater rafting on the Pacuare river, riding zip lines and backpacking through the rain forest...what? you think kids are the only ones who enjoy scouting? While I was there I checked out some incredible high end developments on the west coast that were already selling for a pretty penny. Amazing country, beautiful, peaceful, and with one of the highest literacy rates in the Western hemisphere!

We haven't been to Costa Rico but our son did several years ago and raved about it... he said it was beautiful and everyone he encountered was as friendly as could be.  Beautiful sunset photo, btw!

Sharon - delighted you got down to Costa Rica! It´s a beautiful country with loads of potential, both for lifestyle and investment. Hope you can make it to The Oaks next time! Everyone has their favorite place, and mine is Guanacaste because of the warm, dry climate.

Russell, glad to hear of how you enjoyed it. We have clients who have owned an ocean view lot on the Oso peninsula for a few years, and are now ready to build on it since we have closed on their home here in St. Pete. My husband is going to Costa Rica with me in January, his first time, and he surprised me by saying that he wants to go zip lining. Not bad for 76!

Jesse - we're raving about it, too - especially the friendly people.

Robert - where in Guanacaste is The Oaks? George and I will be in Guanacaste in January.
