Mmm - Costa Rica was wonderful. Away from it all.
Guess I really have been away, since I've been gettin some e-mails asking if I'm ok since I haven't blogged lately. Thanks for caring!
Tami and I went down to check out some potential investments for some of our clients, and we stayed at the del Pacifico development between Jaco and Quepos on the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica.
I was content to walk on the beach early in the morning - Tami went galloping down the beach on horseback.
The Ticos (Costa Rican people) were calm and friendly - no road rage here. We felt so welcome. The owners and prospective owners who shared the weekend at del Pacifico with us were great fun and many of us are making plans to see each other again.
What a shame we had to come back to reality.

That sounds like a nice way to get away from the daily grind.
Sharon, my wife went to Costa Rica some 13 or 14 years ago and is still raving about it.
I wondered where you had been. Gosh, sounds wonderful, it is SOoooooooooo hard to come back.
Sharon - Are you just saying you went to look at some investment property for clients just to get a tax write off???:)
Sharon, Costa Rica is on my list! Welcome back! We missed you!
Welcome back Sharon! Sounds like a good reason to be away from the Rain! Can't wait to see some of the great photos you're going to share with us! (hint, hint)
Hi Sharon,
Sounds like you had a wonderful trip, good for you. Everything I've heard about Costa Rica makes we want to see it even more. Haven't been there yet, but plan to, it's also on my list.
So what was your opinion on the investment possibilities?
Hi Sharon,
Glad you enjoyed the trip, sounds just what the doctor ordered. I too would have enjoyed the walk rather then the horsey ride.
I have added the area to my places to visit, see and enjoy.
Welcome home!
Randy - it's all about expanding the business and as you know, somebody has to do it!
Brian - interesting! whenever I mention Costa Rica, it seems as if they or they family have vacationed there or invested there, and rave about it.
Missy - the condo we stayed in didn't have an internet connection and I didn't have time to go to a cafe, though I had my laptop with me, so it was out of line, out of blog.
Bill - no, the tax was just an offshoot, since it's really only a portion of dollars spent. I really went thinking that primary home sales are slow because the seller has to sell before he can buy, but second home sales don't generally have that restriction. Just looking outside the box to expand our business.
Patricia - now if you want to go down and check out Costa Rica for YOUR investments, we could have a really fun time there together.
Debbie - ok, ok, I'll drip some photos.
Lynda - since Hawaii is such a long trip for Floridians, I thought Costa Rica could be a good alternative. It has 17 separate climate zones, which may even top the Big Island. I think the days of the "land grab" flip are over, but I think there are some excellent investments. I particularly like the potential of the central Pacific coast.
Hal - thanks. When we were at the Greenbriar, I went with Tami on the horseback ride, which was only about an hour. After hearing about her 4 hour ride up cliffs, through mud creeks, etc I'm glad I made the choice I did. If it was just a gallop along the beach .....
Sharon - sounds like a wonderful trip. I have heard terrific things about Costa Rica and know a couple of folks who have built homes there. I've not been there yet but it's on the list. Hope it was an informative, as well as restful, visit.
Jeff
Hi , I loved it there , though I was taken with the local culture in the rain forests areas. One of the more fun trips in my life. I did the train through the rain forest and got the real flavors of the country, and flavors they had plenty of. From coast to coast it was a blast. Loved the volcano as well. Awesome to look down there from the edge.
Jeff - it would be interesting to know where they built their homes. Yes, it was very informative, and it was busy and restful at the same time.
William - I much prefer the local areas to a franchise-everywhere culture.
Wow...that sounds like a relaxation and work trip...glad you enjoyed.
Sally - life is good when we can work and enjoy at the same time! The Costa Rican people, the Ticos, are the closest I've found to having the Aloha spirit outside of Hawaii.
