Have you set aside half an hour or an hour to discuss something with one or more of your team? or a colleague? Move the meeting outside of your office. Go have lunch, or have coffee, or have gelato. And when you're there - eat outside!
It's a great way to remind your clients and your circle that you're still here and still in business. Sometimes buyers really care that you know lots of people - so that you can integrate them into the community.
Have you scheduled time to read your e-mail, or write your blog, or explore on the web? Take your computer out of your office and go where you might interact with your clients or meet a new prospect.

Sharon - why the heck not! I love being outside...I need to get my laptop networked so I can take your advice :)
Bill - now you have a new project. Let me know when you have it networked. In the meantime, just do the things that you can do online. Use an air card.
Yes, I totally agree with you Sharon.
The other day. I needed something for my home and the builder was to bring it over. I asked if I could go and pick it up. I was a young lady with a two year old. I commented how cute she is. The lady said thank you. Now. I have my name badge on everywhere. She says to me, "are you in real estate?" I would like to buy a homes. Now i have a new buyer.
Get out and get your name out. I totally agree with you.
Good advice for me. I have really gotten to be a homebody, except for Open Houses, showing houses and the gym. I should blog at the coffee shop once in a while...outside, of course! Thanks for the nudge.
SS,
Once a month I take a few of our Realtors for lunch for a simple Bull session. I no longer do "In-House" sales meetings..
Morning Sharon,
Very valid considerations. A group of agents from our office have lunch together each day. We hit the local eateries and do just as you suggest, sit in a very conspicuous location and interact with the community.
Susan - you brought up a great point. Be sure to wear your name badge!
ARDELL - you of all people should be blogging outside the coffee shop! I'll be waiting for an e-mail - please tell me when you actually do it.
Scott - that's a good thing to do. A small group of CB agents has a weekly mastermind meeting over breakfast at the Yacht Club - keeps them out in public.
Hal - that's great. Be sure you follow Susan's advice and all wear your name tags.
Great idea, Sharon! It seem that whenever I eat at an outdoor cafe, I run into people I know! It is a little hot and muggy to eat outdoors!
Pat - so you get a little sticky getting business ...
Maybe you should suggest to some of the restaurant owners that they get misters - it lowers the temperature about 15 degrees and is very pleasant to sit outside.
Hi Sharon...Great idea, beats staying iindoors in the Summer Blogging in the rain!
Cheers, thanks for sharing your ideas!
Great idea, Sharon... sounds like fun, too.
You are right. It is good for folks to see you out and about. I have both my wife's and my cars marked with signs and lettering, so we are alos seen driving around.
More great advice, Mrs. Simms, thank you very much.
Sharron great idea. Your circle out in the open. Thanks for reminding us.
Fred - some days can be hot outside, but the networking is worth it.
Shirley - it's important to have fun at work.
Randy - good idea to expand your visibility with your wife's car. When your sons get a little older, have them use signed vehicles, too - and remind them to be courteous drivers since it will reflect back on you.
Robert - you're welcome.
Frank - it's amazing how many basics we forget over the years.
Hi Sharon, We forget sometimes how important it is to multi-task. Doing your meetings in public and enjoying the special place of being outside is wonderful. We do this often. Meetings take place in restaurants and on the water whenever possible. More enjoyable and more creative. A win win in multi-tasking.
Sharon I am totally with you. You have to show your face out there and make yourself available.
