Wouldn't it be nice if we could guarantee sunshine for relocation trips, slowings and vacations? Sadly, we can't, even though St Petersburg is nicknamed The Sunshine City and the evening newspaper used to give away free newspapers on any day without sunhine.
Priceline, however, has just announced "Sunshine Guaranteed" vacation packages (100+ destinations, including rainy London). Book this, and they offer a 100% refund if it rains more than half an inch a day on half or more of the days, including travel days. Refund includes cost of airfare, hotel, rental car, attractions and services which were in the package.
Like everything else, I'm sure restrictions apply - but during hurricane season, that might be worthwhile!

I really hate it when I have relo buyers in and we can't see the mountains! I wish I could have them come back on a day more worthy of looking!
Now a money back guarantee for a vacation trip would be worth it!

Sharon, I'm reading this with rain and a tornado warning up here! Sunshine is good.
Interesting approiach to attract vacationers, Sharon. Durng hurrican season they probably up the daily limit to 10 inches. :) Or maybe there are entire blackout periods.

Hi Sharon,
Hum, a guarantee on the weather? Interesting thought in some ways, yet like everything else. Funny but I guess it's based on an actuary table like everything else. Oh well, maybe it works!
Sharon I guess I am real lucky because everytime I come down to your beautiful state I am blessed with great weather.
haha - Yeah -- lets get that going in Seattle!
The car washes give that guarantee. I would never thought I would see it for travel though.
I love sunshine! I like sunsjine on my vacation also. Thanks for sharing that tip from Priceline.
Hi!
I am relatively new to this site and trying to help boost my ranking in our little town. Unfortunately others caught on before me and I am way behind. I see you are quite successful and wanted to know if you can give me any advice to move me up the active rain ladder a little faster. Your time is greatly appreciated!
Many Thanks,

Wow! Sharon, that's the Sunshine City in the Sunshine State. I should've known. There may be a little sunshine yet coming our way.
Kristal - at least it's temporary - there was a hotel built on one of the mountaintops overlooking Caracas - I think it was called Las Cumbres, or The Clouds - only problem was it was above the dew point and truly in the clouds, so you couldn't see the city at all.
Patricia - I'm imagine you driving around in a tornado - in a case of Patricia vs Tornado, I'll bet on you being the winner!
Jeff - I wonder what they do about countries that have a Rainy Season ...
Lynda - they probably set parameters - when the Evening Independent had their sunshine every day guarantee (or a free newspaper) their "day" ran from 4 pm one day to 4 pm the next day - really giving them two shots.
Bill - you bring the sunshine! Maybe it would be cheaper for the guarantor to fly you down all the time.
Juliana - it would have worked the few days that I was in Seattle! Only 1 day out of 7 was steady rain.
Randy - obviously they're gaining more new travelers than the ones they're paying out.
Mindy and Jay - it's even more important when you're on vacation. That's when you plan the walks, the beach, the boating, etc.
Josephine - it's the hare and the tortoise. I was once the beginner, too. Very few can keep up the pace month after month and year after year. Blog every day and comment every day - you'll get there!
Kevin - There is even a Sunshine Realty in the Sunshine City in the Sunshine State. That's a bit much. I have a friend named Sunshine, but she doesn't work at Sunshine Realty.
