Amazon has reduced the price of its Kindle, the electronic book reader, from $399 to $359. I don't know why they reduced it, since I think it's the best thing since sliced bread, but they have.
I bought it in December and have saved more than its price on the reduced price of books. I carry my Kindle with me everywhere and read it mornings on the treadmill, too.
For traveling, it's a way to combat the price of checking luggage. It's a way of drastically reducing the weight that you lug around.
Worried that it won't be "like a book"? So was I. I wouldn't want to read books on a computer, but after the first page or so, I'd really rather read on the Kindle than in a book.

Great Review Sharon, I almost bought one and then I hesitated. My eyes get so tired ,especially if there is not a good back light in it. A cool devise that anyone who read should like.
William - I actually like that there's not a back light. I don't want it to be a computer. No problem having an overhead light, a lamp, or if you want - even a computer light. With 6 choices of font size, it should help the tired eyes. Forget your almost, forget your hesitation - buy one!
I have been resisting. I like have paper and ink. It probably is because I spent 20 years in the printing industry.
Randy - you can take the printer out of the printing, but not the printing out of the printer. Resist not.
I'm glad to hear from someone who likes it. I was wondering. Wish I'd bought it instead of a Garmin which is fairly useless driving in areas you know.
