Lockbox Security

We think that sellers understand when we explain a lockbox to them and when we talk about its security. Today yet another seller called me about the lockbox.  She was at the property, meeting with carpet cleaners, and her key didn't work. Would I please give her the code to the lockbox so she could get in?  Sorry, I can't do that. Ethics and rules aside, it's just not possible. You need a keypad as well as an authorization code to beam at the lockbox to allow it to open. So, I'll come with my keypad and open the door. The security worked - no REALTOR® can just give someone else a code so they can open a lockbox, at least not in our MLS.

Comments

Can't get in a property in our area without a keypad either.

Unfortunately, the agents WITH a keypad often can't get in either.  I've had 4 keypad failures in the past two week,  I cannot get &^$$#&^&*((   GE to replace this dang thing.  They keep resetting the cradle or the keypad.  Seems to me that two failures would be enough.

Lenn - they obviously don't understand or appreciate our business. They should trade it the first time it fails.
