Today I flew from Oakland to Honolulu on Aloha Airlines. Most of the process was pretty typical, though I appreciated that the flight attendants were always smiling, cheerful and helpful. Also nice was that the CEO had a short video to say Welcome and Thank You for flying with us, and at the end of each pilot announcement, he also thanked us. Typical beverage service and snack, then the movie.
At the end of the movie, Tami asked me, "What's that I'm smelling? It smells like fresh cookies." And sure enough, they served Cookies and Milk.
When was the last time everyone was offered Milk on a plane? The cookies were warm, the chocolate chips were melting, and the milk a perfect complement. WOW! Just like when we were kids, with freshly baked cookies and milk.
It was unexpected and appreciated, and made us talk about it. So, it doesn't always take a lot of money or something elaborate to make an impression - it can be as simple as cookies and milk.
What's YOUR customer service WOW?

Mine is stopping by and commenting on posts that are simple yet so full of pizazz!! (If it's not 11pm, I'll mix in a call quite often as well ;) Have lots of fun in Hawaii Sharon. One of us was really hoping to make it out there, but it doesn't look like it will be happening :(
We'll miss you guys!
Dunkin' Donuts and coffee for our weekly morning free seminars. Folks do appreciate it.
But the cookies and milk? I don't expect anything from the airlines nowadays. I want to take a trip to Hawaii just to use the airline! This customer service effort that you shared Sharon will stay with me for years.
Hi Sharon,
Sounds like you had a great expeience. Marlene and I just got in today ourselves, (btw I'm waiting for her right now) thought I'd jump online, I've been to occupied the past few days to be on AR.
Have a great class the next two days, and knock-em dead, I know you will! See you most likely late Sun. or Mon. at sell-a-bration.
Ardell - with multiple offers, if you represent the seller, anything will taste good. If you're representing one of the buyers, they probably won't have an appetite, even for meatballs.
Libby, yes I'm writing and commenting from Hawaii. We, too, try to underpromise and overdeliver. It's a sad state of affairs when common courtesies become unusual.
Bob - would love to have one of the calls. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Thesa - Randy's in my CLHMS class so I saw him today and will see him tomorrow. I'll see both Randy and Sally at Monday evening's Active Rain gathering and will definitely say Hi from you.
Jesse and Kathy - I'm really enjoying Hawaii so all of you who want to vicariously enjoy it as well, Welcome!
Randy - I flew Aloha hoping for some of that Aloha spirit. Glad I did.
Neal - I look forward to when you have more time to be away. I prefer making the trip in two legs, stopping overnight in California.
Tara - actually Aloha airfares are less expensive than their competitors, so well worth using them.
Adam - yes, as you've pointed out before, little things do mean a lot.
Jennifer - I've liked Southwest, now I like Aloha. The "biggies" have a lot to learn.
Lynda - glad you made it. Look forward to seeing you in a couple days.
Patricia - yes, I'll see Sally on Monday evening, and I'll definitely give her a big hug from you!
Karen - no pupu platter. We did get "breakfast" (a ham and cheese croissant) so there was actual hot food to start, steady beverage service and then the cookies and milk.
