Private World on the Waterfront
Many of our homes here in St. Petersburg were built in the 70s, and there really isn't much you can do with the 8 ft ceilings - economically, that is.
The owner of this home is an architect, and he's done a wonderful blending of contemporary and Oriental, with a warm, serene, inviting feel.
His ceiling treatment in this second bath is typical of his creativity. It's certainly not Grandma's bathroom.
For more examples of his creativity, check out our Visual Tour or look at the one the owner/architect created himself.

I LOVE the ceiling. How fun to have such an artistic touch of architecture to work with. It looks great!

Shaun - yes, it draws your attention!
Marsha - with not much room to raise the ceiling, I thought this took great advantage of a small space.
Kathleen - painting would be much less expensive.
Great photography; great visual tour; AWESOME interior design. Thanks for sharing this with the rest of us! I want to buy this house, but something tells me that's because I living in Washington DC and have been back only 1 week from a 2 week trip to Wyoming/Montana!
Cheers from DC!

Sharon -- What a beautiful bathroom....I do love the ceiling. It makes the room feel like it belongs in an expensive tropical resort.
What kind of window treatment is that? I can't quite tell if it is a sheer, striped fabric or some type of dark-colored raffia. Anyway, it definitely works in the space.
