The Simms Team is Splattered for Chihuly! Remember my recent post on Painting Your Shoes to support the Chihuly Collection that is opening in downtown St Pete in July? Following that, ilovetheburg offered to splatter photos in anticipation of the Chihuly opening. So here's our splattered photo. We're using that on our ALVA International facebook page for the next month or so.
The Chihuly Collection is opening July 11th at 400 Beach Drive NE in downtown St Petersburg. We've been watching the construction for months and can't wait to welcome Dale Chihuly to downtown St Pete. Thanks to Morean Arts Center for making it happen.
Sharon - that's an exhibit I would LOVE to see. Have fun. THis is a great photo to use, adn likely will generate lots of interest and questions.

Well, I will have to make it down to St Petersburg and check this out. I have not been down there in a couple of months!
How wonderful for your community to have a permenant Chihuly exhibit! He had an installaton in Phoenix, Arizona at the Desert Botanical Gardens from November 2008 to May 2009 and it was his first desert outdoor exhibit. It was magnificent!! Enjoy the artist and the beauty of his art!!
