St Petersburg is named the top mid-size art city by American Style magazine. St Pete has an eclectic art community, from the Salvador Dali Museum which opens in its creative new building on January 11, 2011 to the new Chihuly Collection opening in July to the Museum of Fine Arts which has expanded twice. Our Mainsail Arts Festival keeps moving from downtown park to park as it grows. Mehaffey Theater has Broadway plays, the orchestra, ballet and so much more. Private art galleries are all around. The Crisp Arcade has been revitalized into a number of galleries and workshops. We know that St Pete has more than sunshine - now more people know it!

Sharon, great photograph! I love that wild looking sky you've got there!
Sharon - St. Pete is certainly becoming an art destination site. I'd love to visit the Dali Musuem. The one in Paris was wonderful! And I am a big fan of Chihuly, even though his work is well outside MY budget.

I love St. Pete. Ever since I was a wee-thing visitng my Grandparents nearby, I have found it to be a place of artistic value...and now to be recognized as the ART CITY! Good news...

Sharon, You have certainly given me and everyone else good reason to visit St. Pete.
Sharon, interesting building, very simple but the long covered overhanging roof with under lighting draws you in.

The changes that have taken place in St Petersburg during the last twenty years is really amazing!
