Bonnie Erickson blogged this morning about public congratulations from another agent. That led me to thinking about taking it a step further,
When you've had a wonderful experience with another agent, why not write to them on your letterhead, thanking them and describing what they did or how they did it? Not only would that agent be appreciative, but the agent could put the letter in their pre-listing presentation as a example of cooperation with other agents. You might even get a similar letter back.
You could even write another agent a letter about a particular marketing tool they use effectively, etc. Let's cooperate and build each other up, where merited. Find something good, and praise it and encourage it.

Hi Sharon,
Good meeting you in S.F.
You are so right on this one. I've done it occassionally, yet not nearly enough. I've also included a letter to the broker/manager a few times. That doesn't happen all that often either.
Thanks for sharing the info.
what a great way to recognize others in our Active Rain Community. I believe with all of my being that you get back what you give out, so this is an excellent suggestion!
Lynda - good meeting you, too. I'd never thought of copying the broker.
Missy - I've often sent notes as well, or Thanks a Latte.
Linda - we've done something similar.
Katrina - it goes beyond Active Rain. Do it in your own market!
Dan - it's even better when the public reading the letter recognizes the agent as a good one. We all gain when the bar is raised.
Could not agree more with you on this one. We just did something on The Truth... about What it takes to successfully sell a house." We're not promoting ourselves here, but you might appreciate the POV on this one.
We've just done two things that would have absolutely been impossible without the other agent. And we've made a really big fuss about how good they were to everybody who will listen. You know what, not only is it the truth, but it feels good. And it's attractive.
We're tossing a 5 your way for this one, not that you need the points, but because it's the least we can do, and we've already subscribed and associated.
It's nice to make this family style St. Pete Connection.
Cheers...
Kimberly - I think building those tight knit communities depends on trust. I wonder if there's more trust here because there are a series of comments, or because we're not in the same local communities?
Gary - Thanks for your comments, and your 5, and your connection!
marti - yes. those connections and networks are SO valuable.
