Scansnap uses at Christmas

Christmas long ago

Do you keep old Christmas cards from year to year? All of them? The ones with notes? Do you keep the annual Christmas photos of your family, friends or clients?  Just hate to throw them out.

So - I went through last year's and used my Fujitsu Scansnap to scan a few notes and some photos, and now they're saved on a flash drive.

That made me think of another use for those scanned photos over the years - why not make a digital book and give it as a gift?

Het there Sharon, long time no see and actually I have only been able to post sporadically myself so have not been around all that much. I hope all is well with you and Tami and the rest of the family!

Oh...and i love this idea, I was looking at a box of older pictures and thinking how cool it would be to preserve them in some way. A digital album is a great idea!

Yes, yes, and yes!  I pack them away and sometimes read the letters again years later when they have become a piece of history.  The digital idea is great!

Scan and shred! We scan everything photos, notes, cards, letters, recipes, owners manuals, etc and store everything on huge terabyte back up drives. Everything got shredded and thrown out. Now the house can burn down and we are still secure and can easily recall and share anything with anyone.

Russell - thanks for the comments. I'm starting my New Year's resolutions early and planning to be more diligent in posting here. It's been a busy year starting a new company, but we love our location and ALVA International is a great success.  Tami's fine and hard at work. Hope you to preserve those older photos.

Silvia - good luch to you!

Ed - congratulations on being more diligent than most. Sounds like you're all prepared for life on a boat instead of a house.

Sharon, my wife was just looking in the hall closet at all the pictures and wondering what we could do with them. This is a great idea to scan and save. Thanks.

Hi, Frank - just think what your wife can store in the closet with all the pictures on a flash drive or CD.

Great idea and what a way to keep them for yourself as well.

Gene - now I have hopes of doing photo books for each family member for Christmas - sadly that will have to be Christmas 2010 based on time.
