There are some terrific blogs on ActiveRain that are really worth keeping. I don't always remember who wrote them, or when, so I want to keep them myself. Print them out? Not only does this waste trees, but I never get to filing and the page is effectively lost forever.
If you have Adobe Acrobat (the whole program, not just the reader), you can just "print" the article, but change the printer from your designated printer to Adobe .pdf and then save it. I have a big folder called Articles, then subfolders labelled by topic, and then save the blog there. In the same place I save news items or anything else that I'll want to retrieve, by topic.
You can also use SnagIt to save a page, a scrolling window, a selection, etc - again you decide where to save it and in what format.

Have you heard of del.icio.us? It is a social bookmarking site. You can tag articles and share your tags with others. I am trying to remember to use delicious on the posts I like and to create my "to do" list with the ideas I get from here.
I feel so "last century". There are blogs that I save, but I just cut and past them into Word.
"The Lovely Sharon"
I love a post that provides EXCELLENT information on how we need to approach the saving of EXCELLENT information such as this post! EXCELLENT...Did I already say that?
Sharon, thanks so much for this little "golden nugget". I had never thought to do that, and I'd been trying to come up with a way to save those posts that I thought were especially useful. And now I have a couple of ways to do just that!
Thanks,

Another cool (free) program is Evernote I really like the scolling feature, it's great when you want to get back to something easily. For long term keeping I love Acrobat.

This is an important post, Sharon.
It's almost impossible to find a blog you liked and wanted to use the info later.
Thanks for the input.
This is all great information. I've been printing the blogs that I find useful and have made a book where I can refer to the information that I need. Since my computer crashed a few months ago I've felt a need to have a paper trail (sorry about the trees.). I'm going to try snag it.

Sharon,
I always wondered why you didn't comment!!! I used to think you were one of those point mongers:( That was in the beginning, though. I have seen you comment a lot in the past few months, and now I know that it was because you didn't know they were there. That's a relief to me since you seem like such a great person!
See, I have waited for your comment:)
Sharon, if you're using the free trial demo of SnagIt (or the paid version), do you somehow need to acknowledge SnagIt as a condition of use? Any restrictions on business use of the image (like inserting it in a business-related blog)? Thanks!
I love your idea Sharon. I do the same thing by keeping a folder in my computer called, "Real Estate Ideas." When I need a fresh idea or need to do some problem solving, I can refer to the many articles I've saved through the years within that file. It has worked great. I use Adobe Professional.
Tarris - it's also handy to keep a folder on your computer (or on your flash drive) with blog ideas. I agree with you, Adobe Professional is great!
