Unique Gift

What do you get for the person who has everything? Something unique and memorable, of course. Once we had a street named for a person, so that when she drove home every night she drove along Barbara Street. It was a small street, and there were no homes on it at the time, so it was easier to do than renaming a main street, but it made a great impact.  Instead of thinking, I can't, think How Can I? What's been your most unusual gift?

How about registering and naming a star after them?

Wow, did you have to move heaven and earth to get a street named after her? I haven't given anything that unique, however, you got my brain going.

we've never done anything as naming a street, but we have a friend that has a winery, and have sometimes been known to shop up at a new homebuyers 1 year anniversery after buying the home with a wonderful bottle of wine that has a picture of the house on it, just to celebrate.

Oh I forgot to mention that there a a few plaves like Disney that will sell a brick with your name on it but I like the street better.

You have to go to the city, county or municipality that controls the particular road and begin negotiating, pleading, calling in favors, etc. It's easier if there aren't people living on the road, i.e., runs through farmland, or is a new street, otherwise I suppose you'd have to get the current residents to sign off and add their names to your request. Like many of the things you do, be persistent.
